Opening Times:
The Pier opens at 10.00am each day
(0900am from 21st July – 2nd September)
-
Getting There / Parking:
Situated at the bottom of Madeira Drive on the Beach!
There are several blue badge parking bays on Madeira Drive, 100 metres to the east of the Pier.
-
Getting In:
There is level access onto the Pier and all the way along. The surface of the Pier is wooden planks with the sea below just visible through the planks, although there are some metal 'pathways' to ensure a smooth surface for wheelchair users.
-
Getting Around / Facilities:
There is an accessible route along a hard boarded surface, although this route is designed to go through the arcades which are accessed via a ramp. If you want to avoid the arcades, you use the slightly bumpy route over the planks on either side but it is all level.
There are two arcades, Palm Court fish and chip restaurant (with braille menu), various fast food stalls, three bars and a funfair with many rides for both adults and children.
There are 2 RADAR key accessible toilets, one inside the 'Palace of Fun' first arcade, and another near the fairground at the end with a small ramped access. There is a key available at the cafe, which is located near the right area on the east side, have ramps in the bars for easy access.
There are plaques indentifying points of interest on the views from the Pier. The Restaurant contains tables and chairs which are moveable if necessary. The bars are fully accessible.
Horatio's is a traditional bar with big screen a newly refurbished beer garden and live music, the Glitterball Bar is the over 18s karaoke bar and the Victoria's Bar with sea views and showing sport all day. There is a photo booth sidestall at the entrance to the Dome Arcade but it has an obstruction preventing wheelchair access.

Additional Comments:
All the staff were very confident and helpful. There are very few places that you can get away from the loud music but there is one at the West Side of the Pier between the 'Wheel of Death' and the 'Ghost Train'. Be aware that you are not allowed to dive off the Pier 'Tombstoning'! Do not feed the Seagulls!
There is a great website with lots of information www.brightonpier.co.uk
