Getting There / Parking:This "New York Italian" restaurant is located on the upper deck (Boardwalk) of Brighton Marina.
The best place to park is probably on the lower level of the multi-storey car park, which offers free parking for those with a blue badge. Alternatively the car park in Asda offers free parking for 2 hours. To get to the upper deck of the marina you can walk past the garage and turn right into the lower deck, where there is a lift which takes you to the upper deck.
Alternatively take the ramp opposite McDonald's up to the West Quay pub (Frankie and Benny's is next to this). For information on getting there by bus or on foot please see the Fed's access guide to the marina.
Getting In:There are two push/pull doors into the restaurant, with a small porch area in between, however this is wide enough to get most wheelchairs through.
Getting Around / Facilities:Some of the tables have fixed seats, but the majority have seats that can be easily removed for someone in a wheelchair. There is an accessible toilet. The walls of the bathroom are decorated in an unusual way, and look a bit like a giant chessboard. This might cause some problems for some people.
The disabled toilet is not that large and while fine for powered wheelchairs is probably not big enough to get a mobility scooter inside. It is possible to leave one out in the corridor, but if you do this there are still two doors to negotiate.
Additional Comments:If you make a reservation you can usually go straight through to your table. Otherwise, you can wait in the bar for a table to become available, and you will be given a hand held vibrating alarm to tell you when it is ready.
Frankie and Benny's is exactly what you would expect from a mix of Italian and American cultures. The food is good quality, and the menu offers a wide variety of options from pizza and pasta, to American burgers and steaks, with plenty of veggie options too. In terms of atmosphere, it's open planned layout complete with open kitchen makes it feel very lively.
It is often busy so expect a 10-15 minute wait for a table if you have not booked.
