  • Getting There / Parking: The Slug and Lettuce is a restaurant/bar in George Street, Hove, near the south (New Church Road) end. Many bus routes stop in New Church Road, and others in Blatchington Road at the north end of George Street.

There are some disabled bays in George Street. A pedestrian walkway nearly opposite the Slug and Lettuce leads to a large Tesco (reviewed under Shops). If you are a blue badge holder you can park in their car park without charge, if not it's free for 2 hours if you spend £5 in the store.

  • Getting In: There are double doors opening outwards and some help might be needed.

  • Getting Around / Facilities: It is fairly easy to get around inside and get seated. There is some seating outside, and during the day the street is mainly pedestrian so it can be very pleasant.

There is an accessible toilet. 2 doors need to be negotiated to get inside. They open outwards and are heavy and you'll probably need help. If you have a radar key it will save having to ask at the bar.

Can get a free wheelchair to sit comfortable at the table.

  • Additional Comments: I only had coffee, but the menu looked interesting and varied, and I spotted something - vegetable tempura - which I'd like to go back and try. There is a well-stocked bar, and cocktails. There are always some special offers.
