Cherry Tree Mediterranean Deli

Cherry Tree Mediterranean Deli

This sandwich and salad spot is one of the tastiest lunch options in Kemp Town, however there are some problems with access.

Access information:

  • There is ramped access off Madeira place
  • There is no accessible toilet

  • Venue Description: ,
  • Address: 107 St James's Street
    Brighton
    BN2 1TH

  • Phone: 01273 698 684
  • Opening Times: Open 08.00-18.00 daily. Tapas dinners are served from 19.00.
  • Getting There / Parking: Located on the corner of St James's St and Madeira Place. Regular buses run along St James's St or the parallel seafront road, Marine Parade. The Cherry Tree is uphill from the bus stop at Somerfield, or downhill from the bus stop at the Co-op in St Jame's St.

There is dropped kerb access and two disabled parking spaces across from the Cherry Tree: one on Madeira Place and one on St James's St. Limited pay and display parking is available on St James's St and the surrounding area, but can be busy. You may have more luck finding a spot further east on St James's Street, the streets coming off it, or the seafront.

  • Getting In: There is one small step on the entrance off St James's Street. However, people with scooters or wheelchairs can go around the corner to the more welcoming entrance off Madeira Place with ramped access and double doors.
  • Getting Around / Facilities: Salads are displayed in a low, well-lit deli counter. The menu is written in white chalk on a blackboard behind the counter. Staff are very willing to talk through the menu, bring food to the tables and anything else that may be required. Although it is a small cafe, chairs and tables can all be moved to accommodate wheelchairs and scooters.

There is no toilet access during the day. People with mobility issues should take note that during the evening tapas meal, the only onsite toilet is located down a full flight of stairs and is not considered accessible.

  • Additional Comments: The Cherry Tree serves an assortment of delicious inexpensive salads, sandwiches and wraps with a Mediterranean twist. Quiche and a choice of hot dishes are also available. Try their fabulous hummus, highly recommended salad plates or relax with a dessert and coffee at a window-side table to watch the world go by. This is an excellent place to stock up for a take away picnic lunch.
