Church of the Annunciation

Church of the Annunciation

There are some issues with access, but with assistance of the helpful staff it can be done.

Access information:

  • There is a step into the venue but a ramp is available
  • There is an accessible toilet but you need to go outside and round the building, down a steep hill.

  • Address: 89 Washington St
    Brighton
    BN2 9SR

  • Phone: 01273 681341
  • Getting There / Parking: The Church is in Washington Street in the Hanover area of Brighton. There is a bus route nearby in Southover Street, and also a bit further away in Queen's Park Road and Elm Grove.

There is one disabled parking bay further up Washington Street, and some of the nearby streets also have them.

  • Getting In: There is a step, but if you ask, they will bring a ramp for you to use.
  • Getting Around / Facilities: Once inside it is easy to get around, and there are wheelchair spaces at the front.

There is a hearing loop. There is a push wheelchair available to borrow. There is a toilet which would be accessible only if you could stand and walk a couple of steps to get inside the door.

I was told that the church does have an accessible toilet, but to get to it you would need to be taken round the corner and down Southover Street, which is very steep.

  • Additional Comments: The church is also a performance venue and has been used for the Festival of Sacred World Music
