The Brighthelm centre is reasonably accessible with a lift serving all floors, and quite good transport links.  Parking should be booked in advance.

  • Email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
  • Opening Times: The building itself is open Monday to Friday with a wheelchair height reception to help with any enquiries.
  • Getting There / Parking: Situated in central Brighton at the corner of North Road and Queens Road, the Brighthelm centre is just 5 minutes from both Churchill Square and the Train Station, so is serviced by all major bus routes.

The Centre has its own car park but permission to use it needs to be requested on booking and depends on availability. Alternatively, there is an NCP car park in the same road or the loading bay just opposite the building can be used as a drop off point.

  • Getting In: There is a ramp down from the pavement to the main entrance, which has push button doors.

  • Getting Around / Facilities: The Brighthelm is a community centre that has rooms available for hire with varying sizes, from 10 people to over 200. The Centre also has its own cafe and pre-school.

On the Ground Floor there is a cafe open from 10.00 - 15.30 weekdays except Tuesdays, (when it is open from 10am-12am and again at 2pm-3.30pm) and the main Auditorium which is adjacent.

The auditorium is a fantastic grand light space, perfect for conferences or even theatrical productions! As with all the rooms, seating can be arranged as per your requirements in the lecture, boardroom, or circular style. There are 9 other rooms available for hire, ranging from small rooms for 10 people, 40 people and 1 for 100. The two rooms in the basement have a 'sports hall' style so are ideal for certain leisure groups.

Conference equipment can be hired from the centre for your event, such as flipcharts, DVD players etc.

There is an average size lift to all floors as well as accessible toilets on each. The corridors are divided by double swing doors, and corridor access narrows towards a few rooms, but this can be avoided if requirements are stated on booking. There also is a hearing loop available for use in the Auditorium.

  • Additional Comments: It was built in the 1980's in the grounds of the Brighthelm Church, while the exterior may look dated, the building inside is more than comfortable to house most types of events you could be planning.
