This is a fairly new building which is accessible with decent sized rooms to hire.  Getting into the building from the parking area can be difficult as there is no dropped curb, but it is easy to get round and access all facilities once inside.

  • Getting There / Parking: Situated on the lower end of Coolham Drive, backing onto the hill at the bottom of the hill below Brighton racecourse.

    The nearest bus stop is a five-minute walk from Whitehawk wayoutside of the valley social club at the top end of Coolham Drive.

    There is a fairly large parking area at the end of Coolham Drive & Haybourne Road, with designated disabled parking but no dropped curbs to the footpaths leading to the Crew club.

  • Getting In: The pathway from the parking area to the crew club access path is very rough and potholed, but once onto the access path the surface is smooth and clear.

    The entrance door is electronically operated by a push pad, should the electrics not be on the single door can be pushed or pulled to open.

  • Getting Around / Facilities: The reception desk is a standard height but due to the visual panels in all the doors staff can see anyone entering the building from most areas in the lobby.

    The whole building being fairly new is all on one level with extra width doors to all areas.

    All the staff have had disability awareness training and are conversant with young disabled adults using the premises on a regular basis.

    There is a soundproofed music studio, and IT suite well equipped with the most up-to-date computers. The kitchen, which is all electric has an area of low level surfaces and is available for hire either for training in cooking education or catering for hirers of the building needing to provide refreshments.

    there are separate ladies and gents toilets each with one cubicle of extra width fitted with grab rails. between the two units there is a unisex disabled toilet with folding grab rails, lower-level soap and hand towel dispenser.

  • Accommodation / Rooms: THE PURPLE ROOM
    Sexual health facility for youngsters with a drop-in service three days a week at 6:30 to 9PM and is attended by a sexual health nurse every Wednesday evening. Information on the service is available by phoning the crew club.

    OMEID BALAMEH HALL
    Named in honour of a former Crew club user is available to accommodate approximately 120 people - it is available for hire for large parties, conferences or any reason needing plenty of space. The hall is equipped with computers, pool table, table tennis.

    There is also a smaller room available for hire with tables and chairs that can be placed wherever suitable for the user.

    OUTSIDE
    There are all-weather football pitches, tennis courts and a well-equipped children's playground. The adjacent building is available for hire with changing rooms and showers to cover the "more mucky" sports enjoyed by the younger participants.
