Getting There / Parking:St. Bartholomew’s is in Ann Street, north-east of Brighton Station and west of London Road.
It is about 15 minutes walk from Brighton Station, some of it steep.
Buses stop nearby on London Road.
There is a multi-story car-park in Providence Place, the little street to the right of the church. It looks as if it isn’t open as it has a door which is permanently closed, but opens as you drive up to it.
There are some disabled parking bays in the lower end of Ann Street east of the church, which is a cul-de-sac. There might be parking spaces on the square in front of the church.
Getting In:There is a small step to get up to the church entrance. A ramp is available on request. Some people pushing a manual wheelchair might prefer to get it up the step without the ramp.
The doorways are manageable and there is usually someone around if you need help.
Getting Around / Facilities:The whole area inside is flat, apart from the altar.
There is an accessible toilet on the left hand side, nearer to the back. You need to ask to use it.
The church has a hearing loop.
The Mass sheets are in large print.
At church services there are wardens at the door who will give assistance if needed.
Additional Comments:St. Bart’s has become a recognised and well-used concert venue.
It has hard wooden seats, but there are usually people from the church issuing cushions - or take your own.
During concerts refreshments are available at the school just up the road, where there are also toilets, and an accessible loo.
The mosaics behind the altar are really something, and this picture doesn't do them justice.
