  • Getting There / Parking: Situated at the Junction of Ship Street and Duke Street, Fabrica is easily identified as it is based in a former church. Originally called Holy Trinity Chapel, it was built by Thomas Read Kemp, (of Kemp Town fame).

Duke street is on the western edge of The Laines approximately a 10 minute walk from Brighton Station, there are no bus stops on Duke Street or Ship Street. The nearest stops being in North Street. Parking is very limited but there is an underground car park in Black Lion Street about 5-10mins walk to the east. There are two blue badge parking spaces directly outside of Fabrica and a short stretch of double yellow lines which could be used as a drop off point. Otherwise the rest of the local parking is pay and display.

  • Getting In: There is level access through the door leading onto a broad ramp with handrails at the Duke Street entrance. The doorway in Ship Street has one small step. Once inside, the floor surface is a combination of stone slabs and wide floorboards. The décor, lighting and lay out of the exhibition space is dependent on what is currently being shown.
  • Getting Around / Facilities: The main floor space is level but the layout is always dependent on the current exhibition.

There are two wheelchair accessible toilets and one with a baby changing unit.

  • Accommodation / Rooms: The venue is available for hire, a fascinating location for conferences, celebrating wedding receptions or large and small meetings.

There is capacity for 150 persons standing or 110 seated. The venue has an alcohol license and a music license for bands. Enquires and details on availability and hire costs etc, contact Martin Payne on the Fabrica telephone line.
