Getting There / Parking:
The Garden Centre is on the north eastern edge of Brighton, high up on the downs next to the racecourse,
with amazing views from the outside.
It is on 3 bus routes, and is about 5 minutes from the bus stops. The approach is rather steep and sloping.
There is a large car park with disabled parking spaces.
-
Getting In:
On the left of the entrance is a green-grocer’s stall. The entrance itself has automatic doors.
-
Getting Around / Facilities:
Just inside the entrance there are manual wheelchairs available free of charge.
This area has indoor plants, tools, garden furniture etc, plus a large range of other goods. There is separate flower shop, pet shop and aquatic centre. It is reasonably easy to get round in a wheelchair.
More automatic doors lead to the open-air section, some of which is under cover. On race days you can see the horses galloping by from one side of this area.
There is café/restaurant on a higher level, reached by steps with a handrail, or a ramp. The first doors you come to open outwards and are a bit tricky, but there are easier doors on the front of the building. You can sit outside to have your refreshments, and survey all the plants. The café also has an accessible toilet.
I’ve found it easy to find a member of staff to push a trolley round and load up plants for me. There is a delivery service available.
There is an accessible toilet.

Additional Comments:
There is a free gardening club which you can join, and which has special offers and also a points reward system. (this also applies to the café, but not the separate shops)
