Getting There / Parking:
On main bus route from town centre, you can catch the university bus no.25, or the 24 & 49 stop near by, just out side moulsecoomb school.
Moulsecoomb train station is near by but would require a 10 minute walk. It is on a steep and bumpy pavement.
There is a car park with 3 disabled spaces but there are usually other spaces available. It can be busy at school drop off and pick up times and the car park is also shared with the staff and the health centre opposite. There is a drop off point and a pedestrian crossing, there are small speed bumps where crossing starts and ends.
-
Getting In:
There are two sets of doors to get in. The first set of doors are sliding electric doors and the second set is operated by a push button and often only one door opens.
-
Getting Around / Facilities:
Facilities are outlined above. The main reception desk is a good height, there is good lighting but no hearing loop. There is material available in braille. There are steps to go downstairs which are clearly marked with yellow strips.
Internal doors are not great as they must be pulled open and are quite heavy. There is a lift which is very small and would fit one chair or scooter or 6 non-disabled people at a squeeze. It is an audio lift and has a hearing loop and takes a max of 450kg.
The cafe is very small with low tables and the counter is a good height. The
bar door to get in is very tight but the bar is spacious and could fit 120 people. The bar is a good height with normal tables and a few higher round tables with stools but would be too high for most chairs.
There are accessible toilets on both floors which are quite tight. They have baby changing facilities available and a red emergency cord. The light is movement sensitive and will come on when you enter, no radar key needed.
