Getting There / Parking:Located at the top of Queens Road, about 15 minutes brisk walk from the seafront.
Taxi rank with accessible vehicles can be found at the front of the station. The Station car park has 28 disabled spaces but there are no concessions for disabled people. There are level dropping off places accessed from the New England Quarter. Bus stops directly outside the station, real time indicator can be found above the main exit to the station.
Getting Around / Facilities:The whole station has level access. The roof covers the concourse and part of the platforms there are circular benches on the concourse but not on the platforms.
The concourse has a number of shops. WH Smith has level access however if you want to go in and have look around you will encounter obstacles, book racks etc, M & S Simply Food is also on the level but is accessed through fairly heavy double doors.
There are number of food outlets which front onto the concourse which include the Pasty Shop, Millies Cookies, The Flying Coffee Bean there is also a well stocked florist. All these outlets have high counters.
There is also an ATM machine on the concourse. There is an information desk to the right of the main indicator board but this is not staffed at all times.
The accessible toilet can be found to the far right of the station near the taxi rank but cannot be accessed from that direction and must be accessed from the main concourse. There are 2 accessible toilets. The toilets are staffed at all times and you have to find a member of staff to unlock the toilet they cannot be accessed by a RADAR key.
Brighton Station is run by Southern Rail and they say they can help boarding and alighting from trains, including the use of a platform-train ramp for wheelchair users. If you need assistance it is best to contact Southern Assisted Travel at least 24 hours before your trip. If you wish to travel to/from a station which is on your onward journey which you cannot access due to steps they will provide an accessible taxi for the relevant part of your journey. If you do not give them 24 hours notice there may be a considerable wait while they obtain an accessible taxi.
They are able to carry powered mobility scooters provided they fit on the platform-train ramps and can be maneuvered safely inside their trains. They will accept any scooter up 1200mm long by 700mm wide. Please note the ramps can accept a maximum weight of 300kg. They cannot provide alternative transport to inaccessible stations for scooter users.
There are accessible ticket machines, the Ticket Office has level access as has the One Stop Travel shop which is accessed by an automatic door. One stop Travel will answer any enquiries and sells a full range of train, coach and local bus tickets. One Stop Travel shop is also the place to pick up 'bus times' magazine. It is open 8am - 5pm Monday to Friday and 9am - 5pm Saturdays and suring summer months it is open from 9.30am - 3pm on Sundays.
Additional Comments:The station is staffed at all times. There is no left luggage facility.
