Car Parks in Brighton & Hove

Information on accessible parking in the city, including reviews of car parks

On-street Accessible Parking

All pay & display parking bays on streets are free for cars displaying a valid blue badge.  Car parks often have their own rules so should be checked whether concessions apply.  Parking is forbidden in permit holder bays and you will be ticketed if you park in these without a residents permit

Brighton and Hove City Council have recently published a list of all blue badge parking spaces in the city, which can be downloaded here. We are currently working with the council to convert this into a map as well.

Please note that all spaces can be used by anyone displaying a blue badge. However, in residential areas disabled people often depend on these spaces to access their homes so please be considerate to others when parking.

Regency Square Car Park

Getting there

Regency Square Car Park: known as Churchill 2

Cannon Place, Brighton, BN1 2FD

serves the Churchill Square Shopping Centre and Seafront

The car park is over 3 levels and is very well lit.
The only pedestrian access at the entrance is three flights of stairs.
The pay machines are all low level (accessible).
There are emergency exits in the centre of levels 1 & 2, which are flights of stairs and therefore inaccessible.
There is a sign on the emergency exit door in the centre of level 2, which states that the toilets are out of order due to vandalism – and advising people to go to the attendants booth on the seafront exit level for assistance and to obtain a key. When we finally found the attendant, we were told that there isn’t a toilet for the public at all!
Half way down each stair case, there is a sign saying exit ramp to seafront, but you would not see this when you exit your vehicle.
At the exit, there is a large sign saying pedestrian access to seafront, this ramp is very steep, which would be difficult for manual wheelchair users or people who use walking aids.
The only access for people who need a ramp, are the vehicle ramps. On these ramps however, there are signs saying no pedestrians on the vehicle ramps!
The only fully accessible exit is directly to the seafront lower pavement, which brings you out by the West Pier.
