The council want to expand the range of services and activities children with disabilities can access and strengthen the links between children’s disability services and mainstream children’s and youth services to provide:
- Additional Short break activities
- A greater reach across the range of families benefiting from short breaks
- More access for disabled children and young people to mainstream activities
- Sustainable change
They are inviting applications for funding for projects from external organisations and from other areas of the council who provide leisure or short break facilities. Funding applications can be for any amount from £5,000 upwards.

Applications will be considered by representatives from the local health authority, voluntary sector and parent groups and applicants will be informed of the outcome by Christmas 2011.
